Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor performance against budgets.
- Provide variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure effective management of cash flow and working capital.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including tax obligations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures.
- Support long-term financial planning and strategy development.
- Taxation and Regulatory Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
- Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and advise management on tax implications.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of all taxes and other statutory obligations.
- Team Management and Development:
- Supervise and support the finance and accounting team.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Ensure the team adheres to accounting policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide financial information and reports to senior management and other departments as required.
- Maintain good relationships with vendors and customers regarding financial matters.
- System Management:
- Manage and maintain accounting software and financial systems.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial reporting systems.
- Implement improvements in financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor financial performance and alert management to potential financial issues.
- Ensure the organization has adequate insurance coverage and manages risk effectively.
