Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support to employees, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Assist users in setting up and configuring devices such as computers, printers, and mobile devices.
2. System Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor the health of IT systems, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Assist in managing backups and restoring data when required.
3. Network Administration
- Support the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and Wi-Fi systems.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime and ensure stable operations.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement network security measures and policies.
4. Software and Application Support
- Install, update, and configure software applications in alignment with organizational needs.
- Provide guidance and training to users on new tools and systems.
- Maintain an inventory of software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Document IT issues, resolutions, and processes to build a knowledge base for future reference.
- Prepare reports on IT system performance, user support activities, and resource utilization.
- Assist in tracking IT inventory, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
6. Collaboration and Project Assistance
- Support the IT team in implementing technology projects and system upgrades.
- Work closely with other departments to understand and address their technology needs.
- Assist in evaluating new technologies and making recommendations for adoption.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an IT support or assistant role is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, office productivity tools, and basic networking concepts.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
