Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation Assistance

• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and measuring ingredients.
• Prepare simple dishes or side items as instructed, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Wash, peel, and cut food items according to recipes and instructions.

Kitchen Cleanliness and Organization

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas regularly to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Organize kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring they are properly stored and easy to access.

Stocking and Inventory Support

• Assist with the delivery and unpacking of food and kitchen supplies.
• Help check inventory levels and notify the kitchen manager when items need to be restocked.
• Properly store food items in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas to prevent spoilage and maintain safety.

Assisting with Cooking and Cooking Stations

• Ensure that kitchen stations are properly stocked with necessary tools, utensils, and ingredients for meal preparation.
• Help the cooking team set up workstations and ensure ingredients are prepared and available when needed.
• Assist in maintaining a smooth workflow during meal service by promptly addressing requests from cooks and kitchen staff.

Health and Safety Compliance

• Follow all health and safety guidelines in the kitchen, including proper handling and storage of food to prevent contamination.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper sanitization of the kitchen area, including cleaning tools and equipment.
• Adhere to hygiene standards and report any issues related to food safety or cleanliness.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and assist other kitchen staff.

Working Conditions
