What You’ll Do:
In this exciting role, you’ll be the carpenter mastermind behind the magic of stage sets! Your responsibilities might include:
- Building and assembling set pieces, platforms, and other stage structures
- Using tools like saws, drills, and hammers to cut, shape, and assemble wood
- Setting up and taking down sets efficiently (think quick changes!)
- Following instructions and blueprints from the technical director or stage manager
- Working with other crew members to ensure everything runs smoothly
- Lifting equipment, working at heights, and sometimes in tight spaces (so good stamina is a plus!)
- Helping out wherever needed, including loading and unloading trucks
Basically, you’ll be the one making the set designs come to life!
We’re Looking For You If You Have:
- A high school diploma or GED
- At least one year of carpentry experience, or completion of a carpentry training program
- A keen eye for detail (tiny mistakes can be a big deal on stage!)
- The ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans
- Experience using common hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, etc.)
- Your own safety gear (think goggles, gloves, etc.) and carpentry tools
- Great problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly
- The physical stamina to lift equipment and work in different conditions
While welding, fiberglass, sculpting, and carving skills are a plus, they’re not required!
