Key Responsibilities

1. Safe Transportation

Drive a light vehicle to transport passengers, goods, or materials from one location to another. Ensure that all trips are conducted safely and efficiently, following road safety rules and traffic regulations at all times.

2. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

Conduct routine checks of the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure that it is in good working condition. Monitor fuel levels, tire pressure, oil, and other essential components. Report any maintenance issues or mechanical failures to the relevant department for repair.

3. Time Management and Punctuality

Plan and manage driving routes to ensure timely deliveries or pick-ups. Ensure that all trips are completed according to the schedule and adjust plans as necessary to accommodate any unforeseen delays.

4. Customer Service

Provide excellent customer service when transporting passengers, ensuring a comfortable and safe journey. Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or goods and respond politely to any inquiries or concerns.

5. Documentation and Reporting

Keep accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery details. Maintain logbooks or electronic records of transportation activities, and submit these reports to supervisors or managers as required.

6. Adherence to Regulations

Follow all local and national transportation laws, including traffic laws, safety protocols, and regulations related to cargo or passenger transport. Maintain a valid driver’s license and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for operating the vehicle.

7. Emergency Response

Be prepared to handle unexpected situations such as accidents, vehicle breakdowns, or emergencies. Follow the appropriate emergency procedures to ensure safety and minimize disruptions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience as a light vehicle driver or in a similar role is preferred.
• License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Driving Skills: Excellent driving skills with a good understanding of road safety, traffic rules, and vehicle operations.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with passengers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and capable of following schedules and instructions.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading goods and handling the demands of long driving hours.
