System Monitoring and Control
You will continuously monitor the performance of engineering systems using specialized software and control panels. This includes tracking system metrics, detecting anomalies, and making adjustments to optimize performance. You will be responsible for initiating appropriate actions in response to system alerts or deviations from standard operating conditions.
Alarm Response and Troubleshooting
In the event of system alarms or malfunctions, you will promptly investigate and diagnose issues to determine the root cause. You will perform initial troubleshooting steps remotely and coordinate with field technicians to implement corrective actions. Your ability to quickly assess situations and implement solutions is essential to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.
Coordination with Field Personnel
You will maintain constant communication with on-site engineers and technicians to coordinate maintenance activities, system startups, and shutdowns. This involves providing real-time information, issuing instructions, and ensuring that all field operations align with control center protocols and safety standards.
Data Logging and Reporting
Accurate record-keeping is a key aspect of your role. You will log system performance data, incident reports, and maintenance activities. You will generate regular reports on system status, operational issues, and performance metrics for management review. Your documentation will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Compliance and Safety Assurance
You will ensure that all control center operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety procedures. You will participate in safety drills, audits, and training sessions to maintain a high level of preparedness and compliance.
Support for System Maintenance
You will assist in planning and coordinating scheduled maintenance and upgrades to engineering systems. You may also participate in testing new system features and updates to verify their functionality.
Qualifications
- Education: A diploma or degree in engineering, electronics, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Previous experience in control room operations, system monitoring, or industrial automation is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with control systems software, SCADA systems, or similar technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and field personnel.
