What You’ll Do: Responsibilities
- Become a technical drawing whiz! You’ll be responsible for creating detailed shop drawings for various building systems, ensuring everything meets project specifications. This could involve:
- Mechanical Systems: Drafting shop drawings for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), firefighting, chilled water, and plumbing systems.
- Electrical Systems: Drafting shop drawings for lighting, power, grounding, lightning protection, lighting controls, and low voltage systems.
- Building Management Systems (BMS): Drafting shop drawings for the computerized control system of a building.
- Work closely with engineers. You’ll gather information, follow specifications, and incorporate engineer instructions into your drawings.
- Adapt to changing needs. You might need to make adjustments to your drawings based on site requirements or engineer updates.
- Conduct occasional site visits (depending on the company).
