Responsibilities
1. Financial Record Keeping
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including the preparation and review of journal entries, general ledger accounts, and other financial documents. They ensure that all transactions are recorded timely and correctly, adhering to accounting standards and internal policies.
2. Budget Preparation and Monitoring
Working closely with department heads, the Accountant assists in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. They monitor actual expenditures against budget projections, identify variances, and provide detailed reports to management, helping to ensure effective budget control and resource allocation.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management
The Accountant oversees the accounts payable and receivable processes, including the timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. They manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that all financial obligations are met promptly, helping maintain strong business relationships.
4. Financial Reporting and Analysis
The Accountant prepares financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement on a regular basis. They analyze these reports to identify trends, financial performance, and areas of concern, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
5. Tax Compliance and Filing
Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations is a critical responsibility of the Accountant. They prepare tax filings, coordinate with external auditors or tax advisors, and keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws to minimize the company’s tax liabilities and avoid penalties.
6. Internal Controls and Auditing

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred but not required)
