Responsibilities
Efficient and Safe Transportation
- Pick up and deliver goods to customers or specified destinations while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Ensure the safe handling and transportation of items, preventing damage or loss during transit.
- Follow assigned routes and use navigation tools to determine the most efficient path.
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
- Conduct regular inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or maintenance needs to the relevant department promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized to ensure a professional appearance and safe working conditions.
Customer Service
- Interact politely and professionally with customers while delivering goods.
- Address customer inquiries or concerns and escalate any issues to the appropriate department if necessary.
- Obtain delivery confirmations and ensure accurate documentation of completed deliveries.
Adherence to Policies and Regulations
- Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies during deliveries.
- Handle sensitive or perishable items according to company standards and protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and ensure proper handling of delivery records.
Loading and Unloading
- Assist with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper stacking and securing of items.
- Verify delivery items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Return undelivered items or documents to the distribution center as required.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of local traffic routes and ability to use GPS or navigation apps effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items if necessary.
