Key Responsibilities:

1. Safe and Timely Transportation

• Drive passengers or goods to their destination safely, following designated routes and schedules.
• Adhere to all traffic rules, laws, and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and other road users.
• Monitor traffic patterns, weather conditions, and road conditions to adjust driving routes as necessary.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods or passengers, maintaining punctuality at all times.

2. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

• Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Check tire pressure, oil levels, fuel, lights, brakes, and other key components for safety and functionality.
• Report any mechanical issues, wear and tear, or damage to the relevant department for repair and maintenance.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained, both inside and out.

3. Loading and Unloading Cargo (For Goods Transportation)

• Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that items are securely packed and handled with care to prevent damage.
• Verify that the correct goods are loaded and that the weight limits of the vehicle are adhered to.
• Ensure proper documentation is completed for deliveries, including signed receipts, invoices, or shipping manifests.

4. Customer Service and Communication

• Interact with passengers or clients in a professional, courteous manner, addressing their needs and ensuring a pleasant experience.
• Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, or clients to provide updates on arrival times or any delays.
• Handle customer inquiries or concerns and resolve any issues related to the transportation of goods or passengers.

5. Route Planning and Navigation

• Plan the most efficient routes to destinations, using GPS devices, maps, or navigation apps.
• Adjust routes in response to road closures, traffic congestion, or other obstacles to ensure timely arrivals.
• Keep detailed logs of driving hours, fuel consumption, and mileage, especially for long-distance or commercial driving roles.

6. Compliance with Safety Regulations

• Follow all company policies and government regulations related to driving, including hours of service limits for commercial drivers.
• Wear seat belts, ensure that passengers are wearing seat belts, and follow proper loading procedures to avoid accidents.
• Maintain proper licensing and certifications required for operating specific vehicle types (e.g., commercial driver’s license for trucks).

7. Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel expenses, mileage, and maintenance.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations to supervisors immediately, completing necessary documentation.
• Submit daily or weekly reports to management detailing routes driven, time taken, and any issues encountered during trips.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Valid driver’s license, with the appropriate class based on the vehicle type (commercial licenses may be required for trucks or larger vehicles).
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws, routes, and driving conditions.
