Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning and Strategy Development
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and timelines, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to determine material specifications, quantities, and quality standards.
- Research and analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing to ensure the best value in procurement activities.
Vendor Selection and Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors and suppliers who meet quality and compliance standards specific to Civil and MEP projects.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve favorable conditions for the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain and resolve any issues that may arise.
Cost Control and Budget Management
- Develop and monitor budgets for procurement activities, ensuring that expenditures are within limits and aligned with project goals.
- Conduct cost analyses and prepare reports to recommend cost-saving strategies and alternatives for materials and services.
- Track and report on procurement spending, identifying areas where adjustments can be made for financial efficiency.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure that procured materials and equipment comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to inspect materials and address any quality issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules, for audit and compliance purposes.
Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination
- Plan and oversee the logistics of material deliveries, coordinating with suppliers and project teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to avoid delays and maintain project timelines.
- Manage any logistical issues that arise, such as delays or damaged goods, working with suppliers to find solutions that minimize project impact.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the construction industry, with specific expertise in Civil and MEP materials and equipment.
- Skills: Strong negotiation skills, proficiency in procurement software, and excellent analytical abilities for budgeting and cost control.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with project management principles, local and international procurement regulations, and industry standards for Civil and MEP projects.
- Other: Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
