Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Implementation
Design, implement, and monitor quality assurance systems and protocols for projects. Develop and document quality control plans, inspection test plans, and procedures to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards. You will work proactively to identify potential quality issues and prevent defects.
Inspection and Testing
Conduct regular inspections and tests of materials, processes, and completed work to ensure that they meet required standards. Oversee testing activities, analyze test results, and provide recommendations to resolve non-conformities. Ensure that inspection records are maintained for future reference and audits.
Compliance Monitoring
Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable codes and regulations. Verify that all construction and manufacturing activities align with approved plans and standards. Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure materials and processes are compliant.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including quality reports, test results, and inspection records. Provide detailed reports to management highlighting quality issues, trends, and proposed corrective actions. Develop and update quality manuals, procedures, and policies to enhance organizational standards.
Training and Continuous Improvement
Train team members and stakeholders on quality standards, policies, and best practices. Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and recommending process improvements. Collaborate with project teams to implement lessons learned from past projects.
Problem-Solving and Non-Conformance Management
Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues and non-conformances effectively. Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions, ensuring that root causes are addressed to prevent recurrence.
Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, or a related field) is preferred. Relevant certifications in quality management or ISO standards are an advantage.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, codes, and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, ASME).
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test results to identify quality discrepancies.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and training materials.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to inspections and documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to address quality challenges effectively.
