Key Responsibilities

1. Network Design and Implementation

The Server and Network Engineer is responsible for planning and deploying network solutions that meet the organization’s requirements. This includes designing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and virtual private networks (VPNs). The engineer selects the appropriate hardware, configures network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls, and ensures optimal connectivity across the infrastructure.

2. Server Management and Administration

Managing servers is a critical part of the role. The engineer installs, configures, and maintains physical and virtual servers, ensuring they run efficiently and reliably. This includes setting up operating systems, managing storage, and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions. The engineer regularly performs updates, patches, and system upgrades to enhance performance and security.

3. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting

Monitoring network performance and server health is essential to prevent downtime and maintain productivity. The Server and Network Engineer uses monitoring tools to track network traffic, detect anomalies, and identify potential issues before they escalate.
