Key Responsibilities

- Design roadways, intersections, and pedestrian pathways to enhance safety and accessibility.
- Oversee the implementation of traffic management systems and infrastructure upgrades.
- Safety and Compliance
- Identify high-risk areas and propose safety measures to reduce accidents and injuries.
- Ensure traffic systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with government agencies, urban planners, and civil engineers to coordinate projects.
- Engage with the public to address traffic-related concerns and gather input on proposed changes.
- Provide technical expertise during public hearings and project presentations.
- Technology and Innovation
- Integrate advanced technologies, such as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), to enhance traffic management.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, including autonomous vehicles and smart city concepts.
- Recommend the adoption of sustainable transportation solutions to minimize environmental impact.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal Traffic Engineer is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about improving transportation systems. They possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A degree in civil or transportation engineering, along with experience in traffic system design and management, is essential. Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Synchro, or VISSIM is highly desirable.
