Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development and Client Acquisition
- Identify and target potential clients who require freight forwarding services.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, client needs, and competitive positioning.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, attending trade events, and digital channels.
- Prepare and present compelling sales pitches and proposals to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
2. Account Management and Client Retention
- Maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring satisfaction with services and support.
- Serve as the main point of contact for client inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing updates on shipments and logistics solutions.
- Proactively offer new solutions to improve the efficiency of clients’ supply chain operations.
- Conduct regular account reviews and business performance analyses to identify growth opportunities.
3. Freight Solutions Design and Implementation
- Collaborate with the operations team to design tailored freight solutions, utilizing air, sea, or land transport depending on the client’s requirements.
- Ensure solutions meet budget, timeline, and compliance constraints, while optimizing for cost and efficiency.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and warehouse operators to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
4. Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in alignment with company goals.
- Provide regular reports to management on sales performance, client feedback, and market trends.
- Use CRM tools and software to track client interactions, sales activities, and follow-up tasks.
5. Market Research and Competitive Analysis
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in international logistics and freight forwarding.
- Monitor competitors’ strategies, pricing, and services to stay competitive in the marketplace.
- Identify areas for improvement or innovation in service offerings based on customer and market feedback.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless delivery of freight forwarding services.
- Assist in resolving logistical or operational challenges by liaising with the appropriate departments.
- Provide feedback to the marketing and product development teams on customer needs and potential new services.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably within the freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping industries.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, customs clearance procedures, and trade compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
