Technician Power Distribution Required in Dubai

The Power Distribution Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the efficiency of power distribution systems within various facilities or regions. This role involves working with both low and high-voltage equipment, monitoring electrical load, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The technician plays a critical role in minimizing power outages, supporting system upgrades, and contributing to the overall safety and performance of power distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

The technician is responsible for conducting regular inspections of electrical power distribution systems, identifying issues, and carrying out repairs as needed. This includes inspecting switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently. Troubleshooting issues within the power distribution network, isolating faults, and repairing electrical components are key duties that require strong diagnostic skills and adherence to safety protocols.

2. Installation and Upgrades

This role involves installing new electrical equipment and upgrading existing systems as part of facility expansions, system enhancements, or infrastructure modernization. The technician will work with engineering teams to ensure that installations comply with technical specifications and safety regulations. They may also be involved in testing new installations to confirm they meet performance and safety standards before being fully operational.

3. Monitoring and Adjusting Electrical Loads

The technician is responsible for monitoring electrical loads within the power distribution system, ensuring they remain within safe operating limits. This includes measuring voltage, current, and frequency using specialized testing equipment and making necessary adjustments to balance loads. By managing load levels effectively, the technician helps to prevent system overloads and prolong the lifespan of the electrical infrastructure.

4. Ensuring Compliance and Safety

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Diploma or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, or a related field.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using testing and diagnostic tools, understanding of electrical schematics, knowledge of high and low-voltage equipment, and familiarity with power distribution safety codes and standards.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
