Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain Financial Records: The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. This includes recording transactions, managing ledgers, and ensuring that all financial documentation is complete and accurate. Regular reconciliation of accounts and verification of financial data are essential to prevent discrepancies and ensure reliable financial reporting.
  2. Prepare Financial Statements and Reports: One of the primary duties of the Accountant is to prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. These reports provide critical insights into the organization’s financial performance and are used for internal decision-making as well as external reporting to stakeholders.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting: The Accountant will assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasting financial performance, and analyzing variances. This involves collaborating with other departments to gather budgetary inputs, tracking actual performance against budgeted figures, and providing recommendations for financial adjustments or improvements.
  4. Ensure Compliance and Accuracy: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies is a key responsibility. The Accountant will stay updated on relevant accounting laws and regulations, implement best practices, and ensure that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with these standards. Regular audits and internal reviews will be conducted to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  5. Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: The Accountant will oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, managing payments, and tracking outstanding receivables. This involves coordinating with vendors and customers to resolve any issues related to payments and ensuring that all transactions are recorded and processed accurately.
  6. Support Internal and External Audits: The Accountant will provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation, answering auditors’ questions, and ensuring that all financial records are readily available and in compliance with audit requirements. The Accountant will also implement any audit recommendations to improve financial processes and controls.
  7. Financial Analysis and Advice: The Accountant will perform financial analysis to identify trends, assess financial performance, and provide insights and recommendations for financial decision-making. This involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and advising management on financial strategies and potential areas for cost savings or investment opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Work Environment: The Accountant typically works in an office environment, with regular hours during weekdays.
