Key Responsibilities
1. Safe and Efficient Transportation
- Safely transport passengers, goods, or materials to designated locations, ensuring punctuality and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize travel time and avoid traffic congestion, using GPS and other navigation tools when necessary.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of passengers, goods, and other road users.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
- Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle, checking for any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, both inside and out, to provide a comfortable and professional experience for passengers.
- Report any maintenance needs, damages, or issues to the supervisor promptly and ensure timely servicing and repairs of the vehicle.
3. Customer Service and Communication
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with their belongings, answering questions, and ensuring a pleasant journey.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, or dispatchers to confirm schedules, delivery instructions, and any changes in plans.
- Handle client requests and concerns professionally, ensuring a positive experience and maintaining a courteous demeanor at all times.
4. Compliance with Safety Standards
- Follow company safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of seat belts, adherence to speed limits, and avoidance of distracted driving.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of goods, securing items properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Stay up-to-date with traffic regulations and driving practices to minimize risks and enhance overall safety.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel usage, delivery times, and any incidents or delays encountered during the journey.
- Complete and submit daily log sheets, delivery notes, and other required documentation as per company procedures.
- Report any accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent education level.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a commercial or corporate setting.
- Excellent knowledge of local traffic laws, road networks, and routes.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to sit for long periods and handle lifting of packages if required.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
