Key Responsibilities
Safe and Efficient Transportation
- Operate vehicles to transport goods, equipment, or passengers to specified destinations.
- Ensure the vehicle is driven in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Plan routes and schedules to optimize time and fuel efficiency while meeting deadlines.
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections
- Conduct regular checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including oil levels, tires, brakes, and lights.
- Report any mechanical issues or damage promptly to the maintenance team for repair.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, both inside and out, to uphold company standards.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel usage, maintenance, and any incidents encountered during transportation.
- Ensure proper documentation, such as delivery receipts, trip logs, and invoices, are completed and submitted on time.
- Verify cargo or passenger information to ensure all details align with the assignment requirements.
Customer Interaction and Professionalism
- Provide courteous and professional service to passengers, clients, or colleagues.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as needed, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers or supervisors to update on progress or report delays.
Adherence to Safety Protocols
- Follow company safety protocols, including seat belt usage and adherence to speed limits.
- Be prepared to handle emergency situations, such as flat tires or accidents, with calmness and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills
- Valid driver’s license for the required vehicle class and a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a professional or commercial setting.
- Familiarity with GPS systems, maps, and route planning tools.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle long hours of driving or irregular schedules when necessary.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting is a plus.
