Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and within the designated timelines.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, including taxes, insurance, and other contributions.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations during payroll preparation.
- Record Keeping and Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of payroll transactions, employee compensation details, and attendance.
- Prepare and distribute pay slips to employees, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Archive payroll documentation securely to comply with organizational policies and audit requirements.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Calculate and remit payroll taxes and contributions in compliance with legal requirements.
- Prepare and submit periodic payroll tax reports to relevant authorities.
- Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and advise management on necessary adjustments.
- Resolving Payroll Queries
- Address employee inquiries regarding salary discrepancies, deductions, and tax concerns.
- Investigate and resolve payroll errors or irregularities promptly.
- Provide clear explanations of payroll policies and procedures to employees.
- Collaboration with HR and Finance
- Work closely with the HR department to ensure employee records are updated with new hires, terminations, or salary changes.
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the development of payroll-related policies and procedures.
- Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure all payroll activities comply with internal controls and legal requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll documentation and reports.
- Identify areas for process improvements and recommend best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, labor laws, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet strict deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for addressing employee queries and collaborating with teams.
