Responsibilities
Cost Estimation
- Analyze project requirements, blueprints, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Research and source pricing for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
- Evaluate vendor quotes and proposals to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project budgets.
- Maintain a database of historical cost information to improve the accuracy and efficiency of estimates.
- Provide cost analysis and recommendations to assist in decision-making and project planning.
Budget Tracking and Reporting
- Monitor project budgets to ensure expenses remain within approved limits.
- Identify potential cost overruns and recommend solutions to minimize financial risks.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports and summaries to management.
Administrative Support
- Manage correspondence, scheduling, and other communications for the team and leadership.
- Prepare and maintain organized records of contracts, purchase orders, and other documentation.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements as needed.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and other inquiries, ensuring timely responses.
Document Preparation and Management
- Draft and format professional documents, including cost estimation reports, contracts, and presentations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
- Implement efficient filing and retrieval systems for both digital and physical documents.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align cost estimates with project goals.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain updated pricing and terms.
- Assist in preparing proposals, bids, and tenders for prospective projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cost estimation, project management support, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with project management or estimating software.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to handle both technical and administrative tasks.
- A diploma or degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
