Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Record Management
- Maintain and update accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Ensure all financial data is organized and easily accessible for audits or management reviews.
2. Preparing Financial Statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and highlight trends for decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Develop and monitor budgets to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide forecasts and variance analysis to anticipate financial outcomes and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Assist departments in understanding budgetary constraints and managing expenses effectively.
4. Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Calculate and remit taxes, such as VAT, corporate tax, and payroll taxes.
- Keep up to date with tax laws and advise the company on tax planning and optimization strategies.
5. Internal Controls and Compliance
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
6. Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with management to provide financial advice and support for business decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Train and supervise junior accounting staff, if applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
