Key Responsibilities
Design and Development
- Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components based on project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure electrical systems integrate seamlessly with other mechanical, structural, or civil components.
- Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical systems and equipment.
Testing and Troubleshooting
- Conduct tests and simulations to verify the performance and safety of electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical equipment, systems, and components, providing timely solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Ensure systems are tested in compliance with national and international safety standards and codes.
Project Management and Coordination
- Oversee the installation and implementation of electrical systems for various projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Monitor the performance of electrical systems during and after installation, ensuring they are functioning correctly.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including progress reports, cost estimates, and maintenance schedules.
Compliance and Standards Adherence
- Ensure that all electrical work is completed in compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in electrical engineering technology, codes, and regulations, ensuring that designs meet the latest standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Collaboration and Technical Support
- Work closely with other engineers, architects, and contractors to coordinate electrical aspects of larger projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members, junior engineers, or external contractors on electrical issues.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects, offering technical insight and cost estimates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in a relevant industry.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well in a team.
- Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Environment
The Electrical Engineer will work in various settings, including offices, laboratories, and on-site locations, depending on the nature of the project. The role may require long hours and occasional travel to project sites.
