Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations within the plant, including production planning, resource allocation, and workflow coordination to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant performance, reducing downtime and ensuring that production targets and quality standards are met.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain high standards of productivity and efficiency.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department heads, supervisors, and staff, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and identifying areas for professional growth and development.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork, ensuring all employees understand and adhere to plant policies and objectives.
Quality Control and Compliance
- Ensure all production activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies, maintaining high levels of product quality.
- Implement quality control measures and work closely with quality assurance teams to prevent defects and ensure products meet client and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular audits of plant operations to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
Budgeting and Cost Management
- Prepare and manage the plant’s budget, working to minimize operational costs without compromising on quality or safety.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through efficient resource utilization, waste reduction, and process improvements.
- Monitor and control inventory, maintenance costs, and labor expenses, ensuring the plant remains financially viable and efficient.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing principles to enhance processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies, evaluating and implementing relevant innovations to drive the plant’s competitive advantage.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to support long-term goals, increase production capacity, and improve plant performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant management role, with proven expertise in production and operational management.
- Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, budgeting, and quality assurance; excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Attributes: Analytical mindset, results-oriented, ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to team development and operational excellence.
