Key Responsibilities

  1. Customer Service

    Greet and welcome customers as they enter the store, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate tile and ceramic products, providing detailed information on materials, colors, textures, and product suitability for different environments (e.g., kitchens, bathrooms, commercial spaces). Answer customer questions, handle objections, and provide advice on installation and maintenance.

  2. Sales and Product Presentation

    Assist customers in selecting tiles and ceramics that meet their requirements. Demonstrate product knowledge by highlighting key features, benefits, and product specifications, including durability, aesthetics, and pricing. Maintain updated product knowledge by staying informed about the latest trends and new arrivals in the market. Handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the store’s point-of-sale system.

  3. Inventory Management

    Help maintain adequate stock levels by keeping track of inventory and informing the supervisor of low stock items. Assist in receiving and unpacking new inventory, verifying deliveries, and updating inventory records. Ensure that all products are displayed attractively in the store, making sure that tiles and ceramics are well organized and visually appealing to customers.

  4. Store Maintenance

    Keep the sales counter and display areas clean and tidy. Ensure that product samples, promotional materials, and brochures are readily available for customer use. Regularly update displays to reflect current promotions or new product arrivals, ensuring the store always looks fresh and inviting.

  5. Order Processing and Follow-up

    Process customer orders accurately, ensuring all relevant details (size, color, quantity) are confirmed before finalizing the sale. Coordinate with the warehouse or suppliers to confirm stock availability and delivery schedules. Follow up with customers on pending orders or deliveries, providing updates when necessary.

  6. Customer Relationship Building

    Build strong relationships with regular customers by offering personalized service, remembering preferences, and following up on previous purchases. Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally, aiming to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in a retail sales environment, preferably in tiles, ceramics, or construction materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of tiles, ceramics, and installation techniques is a plus.

Work Environment
The Counter Sales Staff typically works in a showroom or retail environment. The role may require standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting or moving heavy product samples. This position often involves direct customer interaction and requires a high level of professionalism and a customer-focused attitude.
