An HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations, identifying potential hazards, and fostering a culture of safety among employees. The HSE Supervisor works closely with management and staff to minimize risks, prevent accidents, and maintain environmental standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Health and Safety Management

• Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards and propose measures to mitigate risks.
• Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

Training and Awareness

• Organize and conduct safety training programs to educate employees on workplace hazards, emergency procedures, and safe practices.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness by organizing workshops, safety drills, and toolbox talks.
• Provide guidance to staff on proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools.

Incident Reporting and Investigation

• Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Maintain records of accidents, inspections, and safety-related incidents for compliance and analysis.

Compliance and Inspections

• Ensure the organization complies with local and international health, safety, and environmental laws.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of work areas, equipment, and processes.
• Coordinate with external regulatory bodies during inspections and address any compliance issues.

Environmental Management

• Monitor and implement environmental programs to reduce the organization’s ecological footprint.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to environmental standards.
• Promote sustainable practices, including energy conservation and waste reduction initiatives.

Collaboration and Reporting

• Work closely with management, project teams, and contractors to ensure safety standards are integrated into operations.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on safety performance and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with emergency response teams to develop and implement effective contingency plans.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in an HSE role, preferably in industrial, construction, or manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees and management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address safety challenges effectively.
