Key Responsibilities
System Installation and Commissioning
- Install fire and gas detection systems, including sensors, panels, and wiring
- Configure and commission systems to meet manufacturer and regulatory requirements
- Conduct functional tests to ensure system integrity
Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting
- Repair or replace defective components, sensors, or system parts
- Calibrate and adjust systems to maintain accuracy
Testing and Inspection
- Conduct regular tests and inspections to ensure system compliance
- Verify sensor accuracy and detection capabilities
- Document test results and maintenance activities
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, regulations, and codes (e.g., NFPA, OSHA)
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with safety teams to maintain a safe work environment
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
- Generate reports on system performance, issues, and recommendations
- Update documentation to reflect system changes or modifications
Collaboration and Training
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Provide training on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Participate in emergency response and drills
Additional Responsibilities

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary certification or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in fire and gas detection systems
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., NICET, CFPS)
- Strong understanding of fire and gas detection principles, codes, and regulations
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, electrical circuits, and control systems
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience with specific fire and gas detection systems (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens)
- Knowledge of network protocols and communication systems
- Familiarity with hazardous areas classification and explosion-proof equipment
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or emergency response
