Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair of Mechanical Systems
Perform regular maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery, such as vehicles, engines, or industrial machines. Identify and address any issues by diagnosing faults, repairing, or replacing defective components.
Diagnostic Work and Troubleshooting
Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical problems. Assess the functionality of components, conduct tests, and analyze results to determine the cause of malfunctions. Provide solutions for repairs or adjustments to restore equipment to proper working condition.
Installation and Assembly of Mechanical Parts
Install new machinery or mechanical components in line with specifications. Assemble, disassemble, and rebuild machines or equipment as required for repairs or upgrades.
Safety Compliance and Quality Control
Ensure that all mechanical work complies with safety regulations and standards. Adhere to industry safety protocols when working with equipment and machinery to prevent accidents and injuries.
Record Keeping and Reporting
Document all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, work performed, and any recommendations for future work. Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections and service history.
Customer Service and Communication
Communicate effectively with customers or team members regarding the status of repairs, required parts, and any issues that arise. Provide guidance on how to maintain the equipment for long-term functionality.
Inventory and Parts Management
Monitor the inventory of mechanical parts and tools, ensuring that the necessary parts are available for repairs and maintenance. Order parts and materials as needed and maintain a well-organized workspace.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or an associate degree in mechanics or automotive technology is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mechanic Technician or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
