Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Record Management
Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Ensure that all transactions are properly documented and classified, providing a clear financial picture of the organization’s operations.
2. Financial Reporting
Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide insights and analysis to management, highlighting key trends and potential financial risks.
3. Budget Preparation and Monitoring
Assist in developing organizational budgets by analyzing past financial data and forecasting future expenditures. Monitor actual performance against the budget and provide recommendations for cost optimization or adjustments.
4. Tax Compliance and Filing
Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local and international regulations. Ensure timely and accurate payment of taxes and maintain proper documentation to support audits or reviews by tax authorities.
5. Internal Controls and Auditing
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets. Support both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial records.
6. Payroll Management
Oversee payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Calculate and record benefits, deductions, and taxes in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
7. Reconciliation of Accounts
Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial records. Investigate discrepancies and take corrective actions to maintain accuracy and integrity.
8. Financial Advisory
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management. Contribute to strategic decision-making by analyzing financial data and assessing the implications of business strategies or investments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and presenting financial data.
