Responsibilities
Design and Implementation of Electrical Systems
- Develop detailed designs and layouts for electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting.
- Conduct load calculations, select equipment, and prepare schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations during the design and installation process.
Design and Implementation of ELV Systems
- Plan, design, and oversee the installation of ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and building management systems.
- Ensure the integration of ELV systems with other building components to achieve seamless functionality.
- Evaluate the performance of installed ELV systems and suggest improvements where necessary.
Project Management and Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to align electrical and ELV designs with overall project goals.
- Prepare project timelines, budgets, and resource plans for the electrical and ELV components.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Testing, Inspection, and Maintenance
- Conduct regular testing and inspection of electrical and ELV systems to ensure safety and reliability.
- Identify and troubleshoot system faults, implementing effective solutions to restore functionality.
- Develop maintenance schedules and provide guidance on system upgrades and enhancements.
Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, test reports, and system updates.
- Ensure that all electrical and ELV installations comply with local and international safety standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, including operation manuals and as-built drawings.
Technical Support and Training
- Provide technical support to clients and end-users regarding system operations and maintenance.
- Train team members or clients on the proper use and upkeep of electrical and ELV systems.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical and ELV system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design and simulation software.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, including IEC, NEC, and BS codes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certification in ELV systems or relevant training is an advantage.
