Planning Engineer Required in Doha, Qatar

The Planning Engineer is a pivotal role within our engineering team, responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing project plans and schedules. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that engineering projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. The Planning Engineer will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create detailed plans and track progress, making adjustments as necessary to address any issues or changes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Scheduling:
   • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline the scope, schedule, and resources required for successful project completion.
   • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that all milestones and deadlines are met.
   • Use project management software and tools to track progress and make adjustments to plans as needed.
2. Resource Management:
   • Coordinate with project managers and team members to allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
   • Monitor resource usage and adjust allocations to optimize efficiency and prevent shortages or excesses.
3. Risk Management:
   • Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project timelines or outcomes.
   • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address and resolve potential challenges.
   • Maintain a proactive approach to managing and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
   • Track and analyze project progress against the planned schedule, budget, and scope.
   • Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and any deviations from the plan.
   • Provide recommendations for corrective actions and improvements as needed.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure effective communication and coordination.
   • Facilitate meetings to discuss project status, address issues, and develop solutions.
   • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all planning activities, decisions, and changes.
6. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
   • Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
   • Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of work and deliverables.
   • Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure adherence to project plans and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar role within engineering or construction projects.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and other planning tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex schedules and resources.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and risk management practices.
