Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Recordkeeping

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording daily transactions, including income, expenses, and payroll. Ensure all entries are classified correctly and comply with accounting standards.

2. Preparing Financial Statements

Compile and prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist management by providing accurate and timely insights into the financial health of the organization.

3. Account Reconciliation

Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other ledgers. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy and reliability in financial reporting.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.

5. Tax Compliance

Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns accurately and on time. Identify opportunities for tax optimization and keep updated on changes in tax policies.

6. Internal Controls and Auditing

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and reports.

7. Financial Analysis

Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Present findings to management to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounting or a similar role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness in financial recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret financial data and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for preparing reports and collaborating with team members.
  • Certification: Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is an advantage.
