Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget allocations and ensure resources are efficiently utilized.
- Provide input on cost-effective strategies to improve financial outcomes for projects.
2. Cost Tracking and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of project expenses, ensuring all costs are accurately recorded and categorized.
- Prepare regular financial reports, including variance analyses, to track the project’s financial performance against the budget.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or unexpected expenses in collaboration with project teams.
3. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all project financial activities comply with internal policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive financial documentation for audits and internal reviews.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with tax laws and other applicable financial regulations.
4. Billing and Invoicing
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients based on project milestones or agreements.
- Track incoming payments and ensure they are received on time to maintain cash flow.
- Resolve any billing disputes or queries in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
5. Risk Management
- Assess financial risks associated with projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide early warnings for potential financial issues.
- Assist in contingency planning for unexpected changes in project scope or funding.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a financial liaison between project teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on the financial health of projects to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
- Support project managers in financial negotiations and contract reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in project accounting or financial management roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
