Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and implement the company’s overall financial strategy, aligning it with the organization’s long-term objectives and growth plans.
  • Work closely with the CEO and executive team to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and business development initiatives.
  • Lead the financial planning and forecasting process, ensuring the company has a clear vision of future financial performance and the ability to adapt to market conditions.

2. Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to ensure accurate and timely reporting on the company’s financial performance.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to provide actionable insights into improving profitability, cost efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) are tracked and reported to monitor progress toward the company’s financial goals.

3. Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, preparing regular reports for the executive team, board of directors, and investors.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities, ensuring that audits and financial disclosures are completed accurately and on time.

4. Risk Management and Internal Controls

  • Identify potential financial risks to the organization, including market volatility, operational inefficiencies, and regulatory changes, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial processes.
  • Ensure that the company maintains sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations, overseeing cash flow management and working capital optimization.

5. Investment and Capital Management

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and manage the company’s capital structure, ensuring the organization has access to the funding required to support growth.
  • Lead mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including financial due diligence, negotiations, and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to ensure the organization’s financing needs are met.

6. Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance on best practices and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that the finance department operates efficiently, with a focus on developing talent and improving processes to support business growth.
  • Set performance metrics for the finance team, ensuring that all team members contribute to the department’s overall success.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, with at least 10 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting principles, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Experience in corporate finance, including capital markets, M&A, and investor relations.
