Key Responsibilities
Transportation of Goods
- Operate heavy load vehicles such as trucks, trailers, or specialized transportation equipment to deliver goods to specified destinations.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo to prevent damage or accidents during transit.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes, considering traffic, road conditions, and delivery schedules.
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections
- Conduct regular pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Report any mechanical issues, damages, or malfunctions to the maintenance team promptly.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking tire pressure, oil levels, and lights, to minimize disruptions.
Compliance with Regulations
- Adhere to all local and international traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery logs as required by the company and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure the possession of a valid heavy load driving license and other certifications necessary for the job.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with clients and logistics personnel during deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Handle any delivery issues or complaints promptly and escalate them to the appropriate departments when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid heavy load vehicle driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating heavy vehicles, preferably in a logistics or transportation role.
- Familiarity with GPS devices, road maps, and route planning.
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
