Key Responsibilities
Inspection and Testing
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical and mechanical installations, including wiring, panels, motors, HVAC systems, and other equipment.
- Perform routine and specialized testing to verify functionality, reliability, and adherence to project specifications and safety codes.
- Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning tests for electrical and mechanical systems to ensure proper operation before handover.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain detailed QC documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Ensure that all quality-related documentation is properly archived and easily accessible for audits or reviews.
- Provide regular progress updates and quality reports to project managers and stakeholders.
Compliance and Standards Adherence
- Ensure all electrical and mechanical installations comply with relevant industry standards, including IEC, NEC, ASHRAE, and other applicable codes.
- Verify that materials, components, and equipment used meet specified quality and safety standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in technology and industry regulations to improve QC practices.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues efficiently.
- Conduct training and provide guidance to site teams on quality standards and best practices in electrical and mechanical works.
- Liaise with third-party inspectors and auditors to ensure smooth execution of quality assessments.
Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement
- Identify potential risks or defects in electrical and mechanical systems and recommend corrective measures.
- Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurring issues.
- Contribute to the development of improved quality control processes and checklists for future projects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in quality control, specifically in electrical and mechanical systems, is essential.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards relevant to the electrical and mechanical industries.
