Key Responsibilities
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
- Respond promptly to user queries and technical issues through various channels, including email, phone, and in-person.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.
- Provide guidance and support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and applications.
System Maintenance and Upgrades
- Monitor and maintain the health of servers, networks, and computer systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and backups to protect systems and data integrity.
- Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, or new installations.
Network and Security Management
- Support the administration of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and user access controls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure uninterrupted access.
User Training and Documentation
- Provide training to end-users on new technologies, software applications, and best practices for IT security.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure all IT processes and policies are clearly communicated and adhered to across the organization.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with other IT team members to identify and implement innovative solutions to improve IT services.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process automation and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest IT trends and technologies to recommend system enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar role, with a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and applications.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and IT support tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with technical and non-technical users.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent are a plus.
Work Environment
The IT Support Engineer will work in an office environment but may occasionally need to visit remote sites or data centers. The role may involve on-call duties and flexible hours to address urgent technical issues or system upgrades.
