Key Responsibilities
1. Overseeing IT Infrastructure and Operations
- Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, data centers, and end-user systems, ensuring all components are operational and secure.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively implement solutions to prevent downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems to support organizational requirements.
2. IT Service Management and Support
- Lead the IT support team in providing timely assistance to end-users, troubleshooting technical issues, and resolving system outages effectively.
- Implement IT service management (ITSM) processes and best practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of IT support services.
- Develop and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) with internal stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and timely resolution of IT incidents.
3. Strategic Planning and Project Management
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
- Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential IT disruptions, ensuring business continuity and data protection.
4. Security and Compliance Management
- Oversee IT security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls, to protect company data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data privacy laws, and company policies, conducting regular audits and security assessments.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup procedures to safeguard critical data and minimize the impact of potential system failures.
5. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the IT operations team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication among IT staff.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in IT operations.
6. Vendor and Budget Management
- Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and contractors to ensure quality and cost-effective IT solutions.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts for software, hardware, and other IT services, ensuring the organization receives optimal value.
- Prepare and manage the IT operations budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, virtualization, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL, as well as project management methodologies like Agile or PMP.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification in IT management or relevant areas (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA Network+, PMP) is a plus.
