Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision of Fire Fighting Systems
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire detection and suppression systems, including sprinklers, extinguishers, alarms, and hydrants. Ensure all systems are operational and meet regulatory and client specifications.
2. Team Management
Lead a team of fire system technicians by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing technical guidance. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge of fire safety protocols.
3. Inspections and Testing
Schedule and perform routine inspections and testing of fire safety systems to ensure functionality and compliance with local fire codes. Document findings and recommend corrective actions for identified issues.
4. Compliance and Reporting
Ensure all fire protection systems and practices adhere to safety standards and regulations. Prepare detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and incident investigations for submission to management or regulatory bodies.
5. Coordination with Stakeholders
Work closely with clients, contractors, and other departments to ensure fire protection systems meet project requirements. Address client inquiries and provide solutions to any concerns regarding fire safety measures.
6. Emergency Preparedness
Develop and implement emergency response plans in collaboration with safety officers. Train staff and occupants on the proper use of fire safety equipment and evacuation procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Diploma or degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in fire protection systems installation and maintenance, with a supervisory role preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) credentials or equivalent are highly desirable.
