Tax & GL Supervisor Required in Saudi Arabia

The Tax & General Ledger (GL) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accuracy and compliance of tax filings, general ledger accounts, and financial reporting processes. This role involves close collaboration with the finance and accounting teams to ensure that financial records adhere to regulatory standards and organizational policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong tax knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to improving financial accuracy and compliance. This supervisory role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Compliance and Filing
   The Tax & GL Supervisor will ensure the timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including income, sales, VAT, and other applicable taxes. You will stay current with local and international tax regulations, applying these to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance. This includes preparing or reviewing tax documents, coordinating with external tax advisors, and managing audits to safeguard the company’s financial interests.
2. General Ledger Management
   In this role, you will oversee the maintenance and accuracy of general ledger accounts, ensuring they reflect the true financial position of the company. This includes reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and investigating any discrepancies. Regular monitoring of GL accounts will help ensure compliance with accounting standards and support accurate financial reporting.
3. Financial Reporting and Month-End Close
   The Tax & GL Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the month-end and year-end closing processes. You will prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This includes working with accounting teams to complete reconciliations, adjusting entries, and variance analyses. Your role is essential to delivering accurate financial reports within deadlines, providing management with reliable data for decision-making.
4. Process Improvement and Compliance
   A key responsibility of this role is to identify and implement improvements in tax and GL processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This may involve developing policies and procedures, training team members on compliance standards, and collaborating with other departments to streamline reporting. By improving processes, you will contribute to better financial control and risk management.
5. Audit Preparation and Support
   The Tax & GL Supervisor will play a crucial role in preparing for and supporting external and internal audits. You will compile documentation, answer auditor inquiries, and ensure all financial records are complete and organized. By facilitating smooth audit processes, you help verify the accuracy and integrity of financial information and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on tax and general ledger management
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members
• Experience in audit preparation and handling regulatory compliance
