Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and manage the general ledger.
• Ensure all financial data is recorded in compliance with applicable accounting standards.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Generate reports to assist management in understanding the organization’s financial position.
• Ensure financial statements comply with local regulations and international accounting standards.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
• Analyze financial performance against forecasts and provide variance analysis.
• Support management with data and recommendations for improving financial planning.

4. Tax Compliance and Reporting

• Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with local laws and regulations.
• Calculate and remit VAT, payroll taxes, and other statutory payments.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.

5. Internal Controls and Auditing

• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Identify process improvements and recommend best practices for financial efficiency.

6. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management

• Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
• Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and maintaining client records.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification is preferred).
• Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar financial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
