Senior Accountant Required in Bahrain

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, managing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex accounting tasks. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving measures, budget adjustments, and financial planning.
• Oversee the preparation of internal and external reports, ensuring they are completed on time and accurately reflect the financial performance of the organization.

2. Accounting Operations

• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly and timely.
• Supervise and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting functions.
• Ensure the proper allocation of costs, timely billing, and resolution of any discrepancies in financial records.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist in the development of annual budgets, including forecasting revenues and expenses.
• Monitor and analyze budget performance, identifying variances and suggesting corrective actions when necessary.
• Provide financial forecasts to management and assist in strategic decision-making based on financial data.

4. Compliance and Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
• Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring all required documents and information are available for audit review.

5. Team Leadership and Supervision

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training to improve performance.
• Ensure the team meets deadlines and adheres to accounting procedures.
• Foster a collaborative environment and encourage continuous professional development within the accounting department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
