Operating and Maintenance Engineer Required in Bahrain

The Operating and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and systems within a facility or plant. This role involves overseeing both the routine operation and preventive maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. The engineer ensures that all systems operate within safety and performance standards, contributing to the facility’s productivity and longevity of its assets.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and Operate Equipment: The Operating and Maintenance Engineer will oversee the day-to-day operation of machinery and equipment. This includes monitoring performance, conducting regular checks, and ensuring that all systems are running efficiently. The engineer will adjust settings, perform calibrations, and make necessary changes to optimize operational efficiency.
2. Perform Preventive Maintenance: A key aspect of this role is preventive maintenance, where the engineer will develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure longevity. This includes routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement, ensuring that all equipment remains in optimal working condition.
3. Troubleshoot and Resolve Technical Issues: The engineer will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues that may arise during operation. Using technical expertise, the engineer will identify the root cause of malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and prevent recurring issues.
4. Maintain Records and Documentation: The Operating and Maintenance Engineer will maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs. This includes logging work performed, tracking equipment history, and reporting on any patterns or potential areas of concern. Accurate documentation is essential for audit purposes and long-term planning.
5. Ensure Compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations: Safety is a top priority in this role. The engineer will ensure that all operating procedures comply with local safety regulations and environmental standards. This includes regularly reviewing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that equipment is safe for use by all operators. The engineer will also ensure compliance with environmental guidelines regarding emissions and waste management.
6. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: The engineer will work closely with other departments, such as production, quality control, and procurement, to coordinate equipment availability and maintenance activities. Effective communication and teamwork are essential to ensure that maintenance activities do not disrupt production schedules and that any technical issues are addressed promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with maintenance management software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.

Work Environment: The Operating and Maintenance Engineer will work in a facility or plant environment where they will monitor and maintain complex machinery and equipment. This role may require working in shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous operation.
