Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition.
  • Store goods in designated areas, ensuring that inventory is properly organized and easily accessible.
  • Track stock levels, ensuring accurate records of inventory and reporting any discrepancies to the senior storekeeper or supervisor.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.

Order Fulfillment and Distribution

  • Prepare items for distribution by picking, packing, and labeling according to customer or internal requests.
  • Assist in delivering goods to the appropriate departments or external customers as required.
  • Ensure that all outgoing shipments are properly documented and checked for accuracy before dispatch.

Stock Maintenance and Organization

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized storage area to prevent accidents and ensure easy access to goods.
  • Monitor and ensure that stock is rotated to prevent items from becoming outdated or damaged.
  • Report any damaged or expired stock to the senior storekeeper and assist in managing returns or replacements.

Recordkeeping and Documentation

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of stock transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.
  • Complete inventory forms, stock requisitions, and other required documentation in an organized manner.
  • Update inventory management systems with accurate information on stock levels, locations, and movements.

Collaboration and Team Support

  • Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations of the store or warehouse.
  • Assist senior storekeepers and warehouse managers with stock control and organization tasks.
  • Follow all safety and company policies to maintain a productive and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or storekeeping role is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to lift and carry goods as needed.
