Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management and Reporting

  • Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and relevant regulations.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
  • Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
  • Provide financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

3. Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance the team’s skills and productivity.
  • Ensure the effective delegation and management of accounting tasks to meet deadlines.

4. Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies, preparing necessary documentation and reports.

5. Cash Flow and Asset Management

  • Monitor cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for operational needs.
  • Manage fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording, depreciation, and reporting.
  • Optimize working capital and investment opportunities to maximize financial performance.

6. System and Process Optimization

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
