Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Care and Assistance
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Assess patient conditions, update medical records, and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety by adhering to established nursing protocols and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
- Assist in preparing patients for procedures, surgeries, and tests, ensuring they are informed and comfortable.
2. Collaborating with Medical Team
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate patient progress, treatment plans, and changes in health status to the rest of the healthcare team.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and provide input regarding patient care needs and treatment modifications.
3. Medical and Clinical Procedures
- Perform clinical tasks such as dressing wounds, inserting IV lines, catheterization, and other medical procedures within the scope of nursing practice.
- Administer prescribed medications and injections accurately, following standard procedures.
- Maintain sterile techniques and ensure all equipment used is properly sterilized and in good working order.
4. Patient Education and Support
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and aftercare procedures to promote recovery and health maintenance.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families, offering comfort and counseling where necessary.
- Encourage patient compliance with medical instructions, follow-up care, and healthy lifestyle changes.
5. Record Keeping and Documentation
- Accurately document patient care, treatment plans, medications administered, and any changes in the patient’s condition.
- Ensure medical records are up-to-date and compliant with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and respect patient privacy rights at all times.
6. Adherence to Healthcare Standards and Regulations
- Follow healthcare facility policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and international healthcare standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advancements, nursing practices, and regulations in the healthcare field.
- Participate in continuing education programs, training, and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Prometric Certification: Successfully passed the Prometric exam for nurses, which is recognized for overseas nursing employment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BScN) or an equivalent nursing qualification from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Licensing: Valid nursing license or registration in India or the country of origin.
- Skills: Excellent patient care skills, strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is typically required, as many overseas employers expect communication in English.
