Key Responsibilities
System Installation and Configuration
- Install, program, and configure BMS hardware and software to control building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
- Integrate new devices and components into existing BMS infrastructure.
- Conduct initial system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on BMS equipment to avoid system failures.
- Diagnose and repair system malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Respond promptly to alarms and faults, identifying and resolving root causes efficiently.
System Optimization and Upgrades
- Analyze system performance data to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and optimization.
- Implement software updates, patches, and upgrades to improve system capabilities.
- Recommend and install advanced control strategies to enhance building performance.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure BMS operations comply with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Provide detailed reports on system performance and maintenance schedules to management.
Client and Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with facility managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
- Train building staff and users on BMS operations and troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficient system use.
Qualifications and Skills
- A diploma or degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with BMS systems, including hardware and software.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and control systems.
- Proficiency in BMS software platforms and networking protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
