Heavy Driver Required in Qatar

A Heavy Driver is responsible for operating large vehicles such as trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment for the transportation of goods or materials. The role involves ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of cargo while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Heavy Drivers are also expected to perform routine maintenance checks on their vehicles and address any issues to maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Safe Transportation

• Drive heavy vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment to specified destinations.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes while adhering to delivery schedules and minimizing delays.
• Handle long-haul or cross-border trips when required, ensuring compliance with local and international driving regulations.

Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
• Identify mechanical issues and report them promptly to the maintenance team.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and fuel levels, to avoid disruptions during transit.

Cargo Handling and Securing

• Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
• Secure loads effectively using straps, chains, or other methods to comply with safety standards.
• Verify cargo details against delivery documentation to ensure accuracy.

Compliance with Regulations

• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company protocols during vehicle operation.
• Maintain a valid heavy vehicle driver’s license and other required certifications.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in transportation laws and regulations.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and cargo details.
• Submit daily logs and any incident reports to supervisors.
• Communicate with dispatch teams to report delays, mechanical issues, or changes in delivery schedules.

Safety and Professionalism

• Ensure the safety of other road users by practicing defensive driving techniques.
• Exhibit professionalism in interactions with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Handle challenging situations, such as adverse weather or road conditions, with calmness and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid heavy vehicle driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in operating heavy vehicles such as trucks, trailers, or construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Physical fitness and stamina for long hours of driving and handling heavy loads.
• Good problem-solving and time-management skills.
