Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of tax filings and documents to ensure an organized audit trail.

Tax Planning and Strategy

- Analyze financial data to identify potential tax risks or benefits and provide recommendations to optimize tax position.
- Collaborate with senior management to forecast tax expenses and develop strategies for future tax obligations.
Audit Support and Risk Management
- Prepare documentation and work closely with auditors during tax audits, providing necessary information and explanations to ensure smooth audit processes.
- Identify potential tax risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize exposure to penalties or legal challenges.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
Advisory and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide guidance and support to other departments regarding tax-related matters, ensuring all business activities comply with relevant tax codes.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants and legal advisors on complex tax issues, leveraging external expertise when required.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff on tax regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance across the finance team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax accounting, with a strong background in corporate tax, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Skills: Extensive knowledge of tax codes, regulations, and filing processes; proficiency with tax preparation software and ERP systems.
- Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
