Responsibilities
1. Handling Reservations and Guest Inquiries
- Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and online reservation requests.
- Provide accurate information about the restaurant’s menu, opening hours, special events, and seating arrangements.
- Guide guests in selecting suitable reservation times and accommodating special requests, such as dietary preferences or celebrations.
2. Booking and Scheduling
- Efficiently schedule reservations to maximize table occupancy while maintaining a smooth dining experience.
- Use reservation software to input and update bookings accurately, ensuring minimal errors or overlaps.
- Monitor reservation trends and suggest improvements to optimize seating arrangements and minimize wait times.
3. Guest Relationship Management
- Build rapport with guests by addressing them professionally and warmly.
- Follow up on special requests or unique preferences to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Handle changes or cancellations courteously, and provide alternative options when possible.
4. Coordination with Restaurant Staff
- Communicate reservation details and special requirements to the restaurant team, including hosts, waitstaff, and kitchen staff.
- Collaborate with management to prepare for busy periods, large parties, or special events.
- Assist in resolving seating conflicts or last-minute changes efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
5. Administrative Duties and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date reservation logs, guest contact information, and preferences.
- Generate daily and weekly reports on reservations, cancellations, and no-shows.
- Monitor and respond to guest feedback to improve the reservation experience.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a customer service or reservations role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using reservation software and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
